Pima Association of Governments, which manages the Regional Transportation Authority, conducted extensive public engagement throughout the RTA Next plan development process.
From public meetings, open houses, pop-up events, 150+ submitted comments, surveys and continuing calls for comment, the public was able to participate and review draft plans at every stage of the process. The RTA Board considered public input in developing the final $2.67 billion plan for voter consideration next March.
RTA Next outreach and public input opportunities by the numbers:
- 2,213 Completed RTA Next surveys
- 82 group presentations with 1,807 total attendees (2023-2025)
- 270 Stakeholder groups contacted for outreach assistance
- 66 Citizens’ Advisory Committee meetings
- 16 Open houses (including 1 virtual) with 322 attendees
- 23 Outreach events to hard-to-reach audiences
