Convenience and Safety
Modern roadways enhance safety and convenience. The proposed regional transportation investments identified in the Regional Transportation Authority’s $2.67 billion RTA Next plan would improve travel times and accommodate all transportation modes for network users. This includes:
- Increased lane capacity for reduced congestion
- Dedicated turn lanes at intersections to ease traffic flow
- Technology improvements for better traffic signal timing
- More bike lanes, bike paths, sidewalks and signalized pedestrian crossings
- Enhanced and expanded bus and transit services continue
