Transportation affects us all. As transportation planners, we want to ensure that our plans address the region’s highest priority needs based on your input.

If you or your group are interested in learning about how the RTA Next $2.46 billion, 20-year draft regional transportation plan is coming together, we have a presentation to share those details with you.

The RTA Board approved a draft plan for public review in September 2024 and continues to invite public review of the project list and to comment before final approval of a new 20-year plan.

This draft plan currently includes five project improvement elements to ensure we have a safe, reliable and connected transportation network.

  • Roadway Corridor
  • Safety, ADA and Active Transportation
  • Arterial Reconstruction
  • Environmental
  • Transit

Once the RTA Board approves a final plan, the RTA will schedule an election for Pima County voters to consider the new plan and a new countywide half-cent sales tax to fund it. The current RTA plan and tax are effective through June 30, 2026. Remaining projects in the 2006 plan can be completed after that date with available funds.
