RTA Next Draft Plan Survey - Closes Jan. 31

Fixing our Roads

Two excavator vehicles work on level the base of a yet to be paved road.

The RTA Next plan allocates $177.6 million to pavement rehabilitation over the four construction periods of the proposed 20-year regional transportation plan going before Pima County voters next March. Regional Transportation Authority funding for this element of the plan is reserved for arterial and collector roads that are highly traveled corridors across the region. Neighborhood streets are not eligible for RTA funding.

Improving the arterial and collector road network will enhance safety for all modes of travel and reduce costly long-term maintenance.

Plan element details:

  • Reconstruction projects must have a design life that exceeds 10 years
  • Projects will include mandated ADA curb access ramp and other improvements
  • Jurisdictions will select the eligible roadways within their respective boundaries
