Accountability

The Regional Transportation Authority has a proven track record of accountability on project delivery and financial management of its 2006 voter-approved, 20-year regional transportation plan.

You can count on this same level of accountability with RTA Next:

  • The RTA Board will seek citizens’ oversight to monitor project delivery and financial management of your investments
  • The RTA will provide project and financial progress reports
  • The RTA will publish an annual report to the public in two newspapers before Jan. 1 of each year
  • The RTA will be required to undergo state-mandated performance audits every five years and has successfully completed 10-year and 15-year audits of the 2006 plan
  • The RTA is an independently governed organization (not the city or county) to develop and manage a regional transportation plan and seek public approval of a sales tax to fund it

The RTA provides significant funding (over $100 million annually) to help meet the region’s overall transportation priorities to support safety, reliability, connectivity and economic vitality.
